Great review from Audiofile, thought I’d share:
PUJOLS More Than the Game
Scott Lamb, Tim Ellsworth, Read by Wes Bleed • Unabridged • AUGUST 2011
Oasis Audio • Digital Download
Baseball player Albert Pujols is recognizable to just about every sports fan. What many don’t know about Pujols is what drives him to be the greatest person he can be. Authors Lamb and Ellsworth offer a deeper look at exactly that in this biography. Wes Bleed narrates with the sound of an interested fan just learning about Pujols. While more emotion in his voice would be an improvement, Bleed’s leisurely pace allows the listener to better enjoy the many facets that comprise “The Machine.” This is an excellent resource to listen to in the car. “I just got the reference CDs… they are WONDERFUL. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the production. Tim is amazing. His narration of my book added so much… and he did a great job making the characters distinctive. I thoroughly enjoyed listening.” (comments from Kathy Herman, author of “The Real Enemy”)
“Tim Lundeen makes the melodramatic aspects of Bunn’s plot work to his advantage, giving the cardboard character of the studio head a voice that oozes villainy while the hero has a voice straight out of a classic TV Western. Lundeen also makes the tension in two sequences that involve fire realistic.” (Review on AudiofileMagazine.com, of “Heartland” by Davis Bunn)
“Narrator Tim Lundeen has an eloquent and clear voice which makes listening to the story a smooth and satisfying experience.” (John Clark, TCM Reviews, of “Imans Isle” by S. A. Davis.)
“Your narration was truly brilliant. It was a fabulous reading. Thank you so much.”(Michael Combe, author and publisher of “Trust with a Razor”)
